A Beginner's Guide to Sewing In-Person

Always wanted to sew but have no idea where to start? This in-person workshop will cover the basics of operating a sewing machine where you will learn the various techniques and tricks to start your sewing project. Participants will get to see the Brother CS7000X machine set up and operation that includes how to thread the needle/bobbin, change the presser foot, adjust tension settings, and understand basic stitches and their uses. We will identify important machine components and go over common troubleshooting techniques that will prepare you for your next project. Learn to make a simple pouch with a button loop during our sewing demo.

Registration is required. There are no seats available but a waiting list is available.

Please only sign up for an in-person workshop if you know for sure you are able to attend. Capacity is limited for in-person workshops. If you find a workshop you are unable to attend due to a scheduling conflict, let us know which workshop you can't attend! If we get more than 10 responses for one workshop, we will schedule a 2nd showing.

Four sewing machines will be available during the workshop and placed at four group tables. Participants will be able to work together in groups to follow along and practice during the workshop. Understand that we have a limited number of sewing machines and not everyone will be able to practice every step due to time constraints.
