DSLR, Photography, and Lighting Basics

DSLR, Photography, and Lighting Basics In-Person

Discover how to move from simply taking photos to making them in this workshop. Participants will explore the philosophy behind intentional photography, how lenses and camera settings shape visual storytelling, and essential lighting techniques in both natural and artificial settings. The workshop also looks at composition, angle, framing, and timing, showing how these choices change the mood and meaning of an image. In addition, the workshop highlights on-campus resources available to you as a photographer, including equipment and studio spaces. Whether you’re shooting on a DSLR or a smartphone, this workshop emphasizes creative vision over expensive gear. Join us to gain the mindset, methods, and practical skills needed to make every shot your own.
