Creative Media Studio (CMS) Reservation Policies

We are located on the 1st floor, west wing of the library.

Fall 2017 Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 8:45pm | Friday 9am - 4:45pm | Saturday - Sunday 12pm - 4:45pm.

We have added 12 PCs and moved the CMS iMacs to the area adjacent to the CMS in the Learning Commons West Wing.


IMPORTANT:

Please use this system to book iMac stations and the Recording Studio. 

To book PCs  in advance, please stop by the CMS desk or call 818-677-2595.

The West Wing computer stations are dedicated for use by CSUN students only. Reservations must be made by a student with a @my.csun.edu email address.

You may be asked to present a valid CSUN ID to use the West Wing computer stations - bring it with you!

Computer stations can only accommodate one (1) CSUN student. The recording room may accommodate up to four (4) CSUN students.

Students are allowed to reserve up to a maximum of 3 hours per day, 12 hours per week, up to two weeks in advance.

If a student does not show up within 10 minutes of the start of the reservation, the first hour of the reservation is forfeited. Any CSUN student can use it for the remainder of the hour. If a student does not show up within 60 minutes of the start of the reservation, all of the remaining reserved time slots are forfeited.

Do you need more time on the computers? We may be able to extend your reservation when we are not busy. Just ask!

The CMS Service Desk has several 3-hour items available for checkout. These items include: headphones, drawing tablets, command keyboard covers, memory card readers, external hard drives, super drives, MIDI Keyboards, etc.

If you want to make sure whether or not a computer or equipment is available, call us at: (818) 677-2595. 


The Library is not responsible for the security of personal items. Any items left in CMS may be removed by Library staff and placed in the Library's lost and found.

Maximum occupancy limits and other CMS policies must be adhered to or reservation privileges may be lost.

Failure to comply with established policies may result in suspension of CMS privileges and/or other library privileges.

IMPORTANT: CMS's iMac stations are NOT group study rooms.
